How many rose petals do I need?
The actual weight of the petals can vary dramatically depending on the humidity. If the petals are kept in a dry place they weigh almost nothing, if they are kept in a more humid area the weight for the same number of petals is much greater.
The weight of the freeze-dried rose petals can vary a great deal depending on where they are stored...if in a dry location, they weigh much less than if stored in a place with humidity...the petals absorb the humidity making them heavier. That is why we offer our petals by volume rather than weight. So you know you are getting what you pay for!
French Favors freeze-dried rose petals are less expensive than fresh petals and they last for more than just a day...they last for many months or more. You can save your petals as a keepsake for years if cared for properly.
Here are some ideas for using rose petals:
- Invitations and thank you notes: Several petals make all the difference...turns your invitation or thank you note into one that stands apart from all others! Gives your guest a glimpse into what a special event your wedding is sure to be...one they won't want to miss! Try our 2 large rose petal confetti boxes (4 litres of petals) for approximately 75-100 cards.
- Flower Girl Baskets: 1-2 small rose petal boxes (0.5-1 litre of petals) per girl.
- Wedding Toss: 1 small rose petal box (0.5 litres of petals) between 2-3 guests. Two litres of petals gives about 15 handfuls.
- Aisle or Path: 1/2 small rose petal box (0.25 litres of petals) per square meter for light coverage. 1 small rose petal box (0.5 litres of petals) per square metre for moderate coverage. 1 large box (2 litres) per square meter for light coverage, creating a blanket of rose petals.
